All college-bound seniors need to take a senior SAT / ACT!
Students who qualify for free/reduced lunch through CMS can receive two fee waivers each for the SAT / ACT. Counselors need a copy of the letter showing proof of free/reduced in order to give students waivers. To obtain a copy of your letter call CMS Nutrition Services at 980-343-6041 and select meal assist option.

Florence Kidder Memorial Scholarship 2013-2014
The Mecklenburg Colonial Dames Committee will award a scholarship of $1,000 to our local County winner. The local winner will be entered in the State competition for an additional scholarship of $3000 ($1,000 to the State runner-up). Must attend a public or private school in NC. Essay contest.The recipients will be selected on the basis of character, need, and scholastic record, as well as the merit of an essay on the assigned topic. The essay of 500-700 words must be written on the subject outlined in the Requirements for Scholarship Application attached. If the essay is not of the defined length or subject matter, it will be eliminated. Please encourage students to double check their spelling, grammar, and punctuation. In a close decision, this can make the difference.Please post this information as soon as you receive it. Assistance League of Charlotte Scholarship in Memory of Tere Berigan
is awarded to a Charlotte-Mecklenburg high school graduate who exhibits outstanding community service. The scholarship was named in honor of the late Malcolm Robinson, a former mentee in the 100s Movement of Youth program. Malcolm was a cancer survivor who also faced academic challenges and adverse peer pressure. This is a 4 week program which focuses on experimental design, laboratory skills, instrumentation, mathematical modeling, strategies in mathematical problem solving and more.

This is a great opportunity for a student to learn about higher math and science and be exposed to a state university. One of our very own, Douglas Lee, attended Summer Ventures at NC Central last year.
